My profile

“What do you want your money to do for you?”

Your answer will be as unique to you as your fingerprint.

My job as a financial planner, is to understand the goals and objectives you have in life, then work with you to create a tailored financial plan designed to help deliver them. Of course, I’ll also help to solve the initial problem, challenge or issue that prompted you to get in touch with me in the first place.

The clients I work with tend to be City based, at the peak of their earning potential and busy!

They appreciate the focus I bring to their finances and are grateful for having someone to keep them on track. Most people are referred to me by existing clients, which is testament to the value of working with a financial planner.

Whether your needs are short or long-term, simple or more complex, I can help you with:

  • financial planning using cash-flow modelling to help you meet your goals, both now and in the future;
  • pensions and retirement planning to help make sure you can retire when you want and live the life you truly want when you stop working;
  • getting the most from your savings and investments;
  • protecting you and your family from the unexpected to help you stay on track no matter what happens;
  • school fees planning to help you fund your children’s education;
  • tax planning to make sure you make the most of any allowances, keeping to a minimum the tax you need to pay; and
  • preserving your wealth and protecting your family through the use of trusts and inheritance tax planning.

If you believe understanding your money is going to help you get the most from your life, please get in touch. I’d love to learn more about you.

You can contact me for an initial meeting at no cost to you, by calling 07769 156 250 or emailing adam.rideout@fosterdenovo.com.

I was voted one of VouchedFor’s UK Top Rated Financial Advisers 2023; this aims to highlight those financial advisers who are consistently doing an excellent job for their clients.

The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate taxation and trust advice. The value of your investment can go down as well as up and you may not get back the full amount invested.

In the early stages I like to get to know my clients really well. I will get to the heart of what is important to you, so I can develop a deep understanding of your motivations and help you to make the right financial choices. I make it my aim to help you engage and become more interested in your financial situation.

Should you wish to become my client, I firmly believe in placing you and your needs at the absolute centre of the financial planning process.

My ideal is to work with you over the long-term, building a relationship that is based on trust and respect.

I use a four stage process to help you achieve your financial goals and objectives.

Discovery: where I will understand what is important to you and identify how we can work together to help achieve your goals, taking in to consideration your attitude to risk.

Strategy: we will work together and look ahead to create a plan to help you achieve your financial goals and aspirations. Where appropriate, I will use ‘lifetime cash-flow modelling’ to help you understand your financial situation today and what your cash flow may look like throughout your life. Cash-flow modelling will help to form the basis of a financial strategy tailored to your needs.

Recommendation & Implementation: I will make suitable recommendations designed to meet your needs and objectives.

Review: I will monitor, adapt and evolve your plan as your circumstances change whilst taking in to account any changes in legislation.

I have built my business through referrals with all of my clients coming to me from introductions and recommendations both on a personal and professional basis.

Jim Fuller, Risk Director, Aon Risk Solutions

“I was introduced to Adam by a friend in our industry. Convinced that I wouldn’t be a target client for Adam and he would be of minor value to me, I reluctantly agreed to meet. Since then Adam has helped me and my family with a more structured, tailored approach to financial planning and helping us translate our aims into viable short term and long term financial goals. Adam’s guidance in consolidating a clutch of pension arrangements has given us a realistic view of what else we must do to retire comfortably, whilst his advice on tax-efficient investment wrappers to complement our ‘pots’ and give us flexibility, has allowed us to build-in some life-time events into our financial plans. The long-term modelling of financial planning has helped us immensely. He’s extremely personable and very efficient and I recommend him without reservation.”

Andrew Welch, London, Vice President, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

“Adam has provided me with financial advice for almost a decade now. Adam’s advice has always been tailored to my own needs and ambitions as opposed to offering a one-size-fits-all service. I feel incredibly secure and confident in my financial future having followed his advice from the early stages of my career. I would recommend his services to anyone. In addition to the products and services that Adam has provided to me, I feel that he is a trusted advisor that I can discuss major financial decisions with. He is also able to utilise a wide network of contacts to provide assistance in other related areas, such as mortgage advisors and solicitors.”

Kohan Rebeiro, Surrey, Skype Deployment Project Manager

“I have worked with Adam for more than four years as my financial advisor. Adam has always been proactive in reaching out to me with regards to account’s reviews and ensuring I have planned sufficiently for my future. He has put me in touch with some very valuable contacts especially with regard to will planning and mortgage advice. I have recommended many of my colleagues to Adam and would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly financial advisor.”

Simon Maynard – Specialist international arbitration advocate at Three Crowns LLP

“Adam is up-front and honest. His advice is concise and jargon-free. He doesn’t over-promise but delivers effectively and efficiently on agreed objectives. Being able to rely on him helps give me peace of mind that my financial affairs are in safe hands.”

Ian Hawkins – Senior Business Analyst at Royal Bank of Scotland

“Adam has helped me enormously in getting the financial plans for me and my family in order. When I started talking to Adam I was completely overwhelmed with the number of options when it came to pension, savings and investments, and I didn’t really know what it was I needed to have in place. He has let me see the wood for the trees quickly and efficiently and his advice has always been clear and sound. I have already recommended Adam to number of friend and colleagues and I wouldn’t hesitate in doing so to anyone else looking for financial advice and planning.”

Hugh Adams – System Engineer at Arista Networks – Financial Cloud Networks, Leaf/Spine Topologies. U Can Too – Technology/Coding

“Adam is a conscientious adviser who has helped me work through my financial planning as it has evolved over the years. He has always taken the time to understand my needs and help me make plans for them. His explanations of the different aspects of financial planning and products available have been clear and simple to grasp making it easy to decide on a course of action. He has offered advice to other members of my family who have also found it invaluable. I would not hesitate to recommend Adam to anyone who is looking for financial advice and I have done so on numerous occasions in the past.”

Ian Backham – Compliance Technology Manager at Citi

“Advisers we worked with in the past did not always seem to be working in our best interests, so we stopped using them. Later, when talking about finances with our friends, two of them recommended Adam to us. They could not speak highly enough of him.

Although we did not think that there was much that he would be able to do for us, we contacted Adam. We could not have been more wrong. Firstly, Adam is simply a very nice person to deal with, he is pleasant, engaging and shows a genuine interest in your circumstances, not just financial. After the first meeting, we knew straight away that we wanted him to help us.

Adam spent a long time getting all the necessary financial details, covering our history, current situation, and our plans. Once all this was in place, based on these details, Adam was able to provide an incredibly detailed financial outlook, which gave us an incredible level of confidence in our future plans, both for our children and for ourselves.

As a minimum, once every year, we review the situation with Adam and make appropriate adjustments to the plan, based on any changes in circumstances. Outside of these reviews we have contacted Adam for help and assistance on other matters, such as remortgaging, inheritance tax and other questions. Adam has always given us useful guidance. We have definitely seen the benefits of Adam’s advice and we would not be on the stable financial footing we are now, were it not for Adam. The only regret we have is that we did not meet Adam sooner.”

Stuart Fowkes – Legal Counsel at Hudson Advisers UK

“Adam has advised me for several years now. Adam is very approachable and uses plain, user-friendly language to explain things. I came to Adam for advice as I did not fully understand my options or even what I needed to think about in terms of short/medium/long-term financial planning. Adam has been able to explain to me what I should be considering and tailored his advice to my situation. Adam has never tried to force me into anything but advised and guided. So far everything appears to be going well and I am pleased with the advice I have received.”

Brad Andrews – Senior Programme Manager at Morgan Stanley

“Adam took the time to get to know and understand us. He invested time in understanding what we would like to do now and also what we want our future, and our children’s future, to look like. He helped us to build the right portfolio, providing insightful advice where needed. He keeps up to date on our circumstances, makes good recommendations that keep us on track with our plan, and responds as our needs change. We feel we get a very personalised service.”

Andrew Hall – Network Engineer at Goldman Sachs

“Adam’s approach has been to look at what my needs will be when I retire; the income I will need to cover not only the basics, but also provide a good quality of life. By understanding where we are now and where we want to go, Adam has created an investment strategy that is tax efficient, diverse and is tailored to the needs of my family and I. He has been able to “stress test” our investments to see what will happen to my retirement income if there is any market upheaval in the future. Adam has also helped me to look at my more immediate financial needs and how I can help my daughters as they complete their education and begin their careers.”

Andy Yates – Director at Intercontinental Exchange

“Adam has helped to shape my finances from a mess into something logical.”
