My profile

Who says finance can’t be empowering?

Financial planning empowers people to take control of their finances and build a solid foundation for a prosperous future. So, as a financial planner, I guide individuals through the intricacies of retirement, investment, estate, and tax planning, particularly as they approach or enter retirement age.

Each day, I help families and individuals protect their wealth now and for future generations. I also offer budgeting guidance to those aiming to buy their first home, or plan for those unexpected and expected expenses. I work diligently to simplify financial matters for all my clients.

With only 16% of regulated financial advisers in the UK being women, according to the Financial Conduct Authority, my role as a female financial planner is particularly significant. My mission is to support and empower women through various life stages, including the complex process of divorce or losing a partner. I bring first-hand understanding and empathy to guide others through similar challenges.

You can also find me on my blog, “Prosper with Clarity”, where I equip people with the knowledge necessary to make well-informed financial decisions.

However, I couldn’t do this work alone and I am supported by a wonderful team:

  • Ryan Edwards is my client relationship manager, and he takes care of every administrative need. He is following in my footsteps by studying towards his DipPFS qualification.
  • Alec Lloyd-Seed & Megan Page are my client experience executives, and they support Ryan to ensure we work closely with providers and clients and to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Mark Bailey is my paraplanner, and he looks after all the technical stuff, ensuring our advice is within the guidelines of the regulator and always beneficial to our clients.

When we work together, you can expect personalised & bespoke advice that reflects your unique circumstances and goals. I work to ensure your money is looked after, your plans are set up to futureproof your finances and to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

I love what I do for a living. Helping clients is truly a privilege for me, and I find this work incredibly fulfilling. I mainly focus on the following areas:

  • Pensions & Retirement planning – so you can live that retirement dream you worked so hard for.
  • Financial Planning using cash-flow modelling to ensure your requirements are met now and in the future.
  • Estate planning – preserving your wealth for your future generations.
  • Tax planning – ensuring you make use of the available allowances and keeping your tax planning as efficient as possible.
  • Savings and investments – ensuring you get the most from your money.

I am a fully qualified Financial Planner through the Chartered Insurance Institute with a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS).

I am currently studying towards Chartered status with more in-depth knowledge of all things financial planning to ensure I maintain the highest technical & market knowledge on behalf of my clients.

“I would not hesitate to book another appointment in the future to review the progress of my pension, further my knowledge, and take advice on what I could do differently to enrich my retirement. Marnel’s knowledge was excellent, and as a result, I now have a far better understanding of how my pension will work for me in the future.”
Tyra Stoodley-Dowty

“Marnel was very helpful and efficient. Everything was explained in an easy-to-follow way and all my questions were answered.”
