Foster Denovo’s donation of computers to school in Ghana
17.10.2024The story behind how small acts of kindness can turn into meaningful outcomes
The first time Foster Denovo’s CEO, Roger Brosch, met Ebby was at the gym, where Ebby worked, back in 2015. Light-hearted exchanges sparked their first conversation and marked the beginning of a friendship. One day, over coffee, Ebby shared his incredible story of serving in the army and being a Chief in his local community. He spoke about his village in Ghana, where resources were scarce, and children barely had the essentials to survive. Despite the hardships, Ebby described how the children were full of joy, especially when playing rugby – some were even part of a team.
Knowing Ebby’s love for rugby, Roger, a fan of the sport himself, arranged the donation of rugby kits and equipment from his local club, the Old Wimbledonian Warriors, to support the players. Their friendship grew, and in 2019, an opportunity arose to further help the children in Ebby’s village. Foster Denovo donated refurbished computers that were no longer needed in the business. Amazingly, that school went on to achieve the best academic results in Ghana three years later!
Inspired by this success, Foster Denovo has since arranged additional donations of computers, with Ebby always grateful for the continued support. Now, in October 2024, we’re preparing to send yet another set of computers to the school, a tradition that has developed from this friendship and continues to make a meaningful impact in the local community.
This story is a testament to how small acts of kindness and connection can truly change lives – and how rewarding it is to be in a position to help those who need it most.
